Pain Management

Trigger point injections (TPIs) are a procedure used to treat painful areas of muscle, often referred to as “knots“, or trigger points, that do not relax. These trigger points can irritate the nerves around them and cause pain in other parts of the body, which is referred to as referred pain.

Indications

Trigger point injections are used to treat a variety of pain conditions including:

  • Myofascial pain syndrome
  • Tension-type headaches
  • Fibromyolgio
  • Other muscle pain conditions where trigger points are identified.
